SOMERSET has unveiled a new look Metro Bank One Day Cup kit for 2024 featuring a new 'blackout' design.

The kit features diagonal panels of overlaid black tints to create a stylish ‘blackout’ harlequin design.

The pattern is based on a diagram found in an early edition of Wisden that illustrates the length and pitch of some classic bowling deliveries (bouncer, yorker etc).

The ‘blackout’ design approach has been used successfully by a number of top sporting franchises. Its popularity is a result of adapting the first team shirt design to a more subtle black on black variation perfect for casual or social use.

As part of the Our Region Rises campaign the club launched the kit was launched at Wells Cathedral.

Sonny Baker, Sean Dickson and Andrew Umeed went to Wells Cathedral to model the kit for the launch.

The kit is in association with Kukri Sports and Higos Insurance, and also displays the Vertu Motors logo on the sleeve, Dafabet on the back and Paysan Breton on the collar.
