Wellington resident Jessica Vickery came home from Portugal last weekend with a bronze medal from the trampoline, double mini and tumbling European Championships.
Training with Accelerate trampoline and gymnastics at their new centre in Willand, Jess has been working hard with personal coach Jacob Turner to prepare her build up to the season. This season has seen selection to the GBR squad, several personal best scores and now the phenomenal achievement in medalling in such a high-level competition.
Jacob Turner said: "Everyone at Accelerate is so proud of her. She is such a role model for our competitive squad. Jess takes the time to attend regional competitions and is always on the floor supporting the team. They all love her!”
Jess and Jacob are now back at training working on new moves and the next stage of her development. With the club about to build its new foam pit at the centre, we can’t wait to see what she will do next.
The club has centres at Westpark in Wellington and in Willand near junction 27. They offer gymnastics and trampoline for all ages and abilities, weekday toddler drop-in sessions and adult classes on a Monday evening.
