Mark Goodridge, with a score of 40 points, outshone everyone in Division One of Stableford at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club.

Finishing three points ahead of the pack, Mr Goodridge saw off competition from second place Kevin Oxley, third place Tony Reed, and fourth place Rob Contreras, who had 37, 35, and 35 points respectively.

In Division Two, Paddy Farrell took the lead, accumulating 39 points, three clear of Alan Shire.

Following a countback on the three players with 34 points, Neil Cocks secured third place over Ian Smith and John Perry.

The Sunday’s Stableford saw Mr Reed triumph with 38 points, edging out Mike Skuse and Ian Thresher.

Two players returned with 37 points but after countback it was Mike Skuse who was second just in front of Ian Thresher, while James Watts was fourth on 36.

The game day was not entirely favourable as the Ladies Pro Am Qualifier 2 was a test of resilience against weather.

Lin Brown, however, braved the conditions to pick up the win with 36 points.

The Junior Captain’s Texas Scramble on Saturday declared brothers Alex and Jamie McGown, Joe Isaacs, and Luke Paul as winners.

They bagged this title with an impressive score of 70.

The annual competition raised funds for the Junior Section.

On another highlight, Alfie Sully, the 2024 Junior Captain, participated along with Ben Newman, Seb Childs and Andrew Tildesley.

The T&P men’s team lost in a close match 3-2 at the Isle of Wedmore, while in the Somerset Bowl, the Senior Scratch team fell at the first hurdle away at Enmore.

T&P hosted the first league match in the South Division of Somerset Junior Golf competition on April 21, where Yeovil were crowned winners at the end of the first round.
